Client: National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)

About NGA

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) delivers world-class geospatial intelligence that provides a decisive advantage to policymakers, warfighters, intelligence professionals and first responders.

Anyone who sails a U.S. ship, flies a U.S. aircraft, makes national policy decisions, fights wars, locates targets, responds to natural disasters, or even navigates with a cellphone relies on NGA.

NGA enables all of these critical actions and shapes decisions that impact our world through the indispensable discipline of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT).

NGA is a unique combination of intelligence agency and combat support agency. It is the world leader in timely, relevant, accurate and actionable GEOINT. NGA enables the U.S. intelligence community and the Department of Defense (DOD) to fulfill the president’s national security priorities to protect the nation. NGA also anticipates its partners’ future needs and advances the GEOINT discipline to meet them.

NGA is the lead federal agency for GEOINT and manages a global consortium of more than 400 commercial and government relationships. The director of NGA serves as the functional manager for GEOINT, the head of the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) and the coordinator of the global Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence (ASG). In its multiple roles, NGA receives guidance and oversight from DOD, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and Congress.

NGA is headquartered in Springfield, VA. and has two major locations in St. Louis and Arnold, MO. Hundreds of NGA employees serve on support teams at U.S. military, diplomatic and allied locations around the world.

About the IT/IS Contract

The Information Technology/Information Services (IT/IS) contract provides the NGA IT Enterprise Operations and Sustainment (O&S) support to NGA IT systems at approximately 170 sites (90 manned/80 unmanned) around the world.

Challenge

The prime contractor and subcontract partners on IT/IS were struggling to fill positions that required high clearances (TS/SCI) in the DC Metro area as well as the Midwest. Several of these positions followed a panama shift schedule (day and night) which increased the difficulty even more to fill these positions. The amount of positions opened strained workloads, deliverables, timelines, and our client’s profitability.

Our Solution – Project “Road Warrior”

The candidate pool for these resources, by in large, were not local to the worksites.  We utilized our national reach to network with and identify highly cleared and talented IT candidates. Our highly talented and experienced Delivery team screened and qualified over 100 candidates.

Results

Full project success and increased profitability for our client. Examples of some of the key cleared roles we filled include:

  • .NET Web Developers for regular day shift
  • Cloud Engineers for regular day shift
  • Software Engineers for Panama day shift and regular day shift
  • Linux Administrators and Engineers for Panama day shift, Panama night shift, and regular day shift
  • Deployment Engineers for regular day shift
  • Database Administrators for Panama day shift
  • Windows Administrators and engineers for Panama day shift, and Panama night shift

We recruited, interviewed, presented, and secured the candidates who ultimately filled the position on the IT/IS contract. The candidates we presented were “new” candidates – the prime had not seen their resumes before despite having the contract for 13+ years and over 30+ subcontract companies providing candidates to support the work. Our efforts had positive impacts on workloads, deliverables, and timelines as well as increased profitability for the prime contractor.
